Well that’s easy! It all starts with that initial phone call or visit to that tow companies website. Did they answer the phone? Was the tow company dispatcher professional and did they answer all of your questions? How about the website? Was it outdated and did you find the answers you were looking for? Keep reading this article and you will know exactly how to choose the perfect towing company for you.

Even though a lot of the tow companies will come across as professional and polite but very few actually are and even fewer will deliver what they promise. Your best way of choosing a towing company that will work for you is by calling and asking them questions like; How much does towing cost? How does your company charge? By the hour or by mileage?  Are you guys insured and how can I be certain that your tow truck driver will not damage my car? Listen to the answers carefully and pay attention to how they respond. These are normal questions that Amy business will receive throughout the week so the dispatcher should not get upset or irritated but instead answer all of your questions in a polite manner. They should be able to give you an exact price on what their towing services will cost for your particular car and situation. Unless your Towing needs are an extreme case where the dispatcher is not able to give you a price over the phone, There really should not be an issue about entering all of your questions about their towing company.  When the road conditions are hazardous and when it is snowing or when the roads are frozen it is extremely hard to give an exact price for example on winch out services. The car might be a few feet off of the road or might be 100 yards in a ditch on the side of the road, as you can imagine the prices for winching out your car or truck would differ dramatically.

Be sure to ask the Towing dispatcher about the forms of payment that their particular towing company excepts and what kind of receipts they offer for customers such as yourself. Some companies only offer email receipts and some offer email and paperback receipts. This is important to know because your car insurance company will want a fully detailed receipt with all of the information including Your car year, make and model the pick up and drop off address and exactly what was done to the vehicle, meaning what services the towing company provided. If you’re out of insurance policy includes towing insurance you will need to get a receipt so that your auto insurance company will reimburse.

What about a Towing company‘s website? Is it outdated, does it answer your questions and concerns which you might have? These are important things to think about because if the website consists of a few pictures of cars on the back of tow trucks and lousy text such as “Towing 24 hours per day, I’m not sure if that would be a tow company that I would want to choose. I would want the website to have interest to commonly asked questions such as how does it work? How do I get a tow truck to me in my location? What kind of tow truck do I need? A good and proper working website should have answers to those commonly asked questions, somewhere on the first or second page and not hidden on the last page on the bottom of the website. You can also look at a Towing companies reviews on social media and especially on Google. What is the average average rating for this particular Towing Company? How many stars do they have? How many bad reviews do they have and do the negative reviews seem petty or serious? Now compare all of the companies reviews from all of the social media pages and come up with your own conclusion about if this is the right towing company for you. You don’t need to take two hours out of your day to do your research but you do need to spend 5 to 10 minutes researching towing companies that you are considering calling for your roadside emergency because if you don’t, it will end up costing you much more than you could have imagined towing a car or a truck costs.

What about you? Once the towing company picks up your broken down car or truck, you are left stranded on the side of the road. What about you? Will they give you a ride to where your car is being towed to you? Can you ride along with the tow truck driver and the tow truck? Otherwise what do you do? You can’t really request an Uber for pick up on the side of the freeway, can you? So make sure you ask the tow companies dispatcher if you can get a ride with the tow truck. You will be surprised how many of them will say no, but they only transport vehicles and not people. You also need to ask them if the car does not need towing but rather just a jumpstart, how much that would cost? You will be surprised how many times auto company gets called out for towing and come to find out that all the car needed was a jumpstart because the battery is getting older or you left the lights on overnight and the battery drained itself. Santo companies will still demand that you pay for Towing because that is what they came out for so you need to be vigilant and ask questions and not just nod your head and say yes to everything that you are being told. You should also ask if they offer any discounts. For veterans offers and holidays quite a few towing companies offer discounts. They might be big or they might be small but they will save you a buck and hey, who doesn’t like to save a buck.

What about the tow trucks ETA? How long will it take the tow truck to be at your vehicles location? The estimated time of arrival is very important. You don’t want to be stuck in stranded on the side of the road for four hours waiting for a tow truck. Always ask what the ETA or the waiting time is for a tow truck. That should always be your second question when speaking with a Towing Company. Your first question should be how much it would cost to have your vehicle towed or winched out or whatever service you need but the second question should always be what the ETA is.

You don’t want a towing company misleading you and making you wait longer than you should so always make sure you have an exact or at least approximate ETA for your tow truck arriving at your vehicles location. While you are waiting for your tow truck please remember to turn on your hazardous emergency lights, those are the four blinkers on each side/corner of your car. It draws attention to your car from other motorists warning them to slow down or to go around you. The last thing you would want is to be in an accident while sitting in your car and waiting for a tow truck so please be safe while waiting for a towing company in Bellevue. It could save your life and the lives of other people around you.

Something else to consider and think about would be the type of truck you need. Do you need a flatbed tow truck? Do you need a wrecker or wheel lift  tow truck? If you don’t know what type of truck you need make sure to ask the tow companies dispatcher. Make sure you tell them what the year make and model is of your car and if it’s an all-wheel-drive, 4 x 4 or front or rear wheel drive vehicle. If you can tell them that, they will be able to advise you on what type of tow truck you need. If it doesn’t matter what type of tow truck you need, then make sure you ask for the one that is cheaper and more affordable for you. but if your car truck need a flatbed tow truck then make sure that that is a type of truck that you get, otherwise the wrong type of tow truck will cause damage to your vehicle and I will only end up costing you Way More than your initial reason for breaking down. So make sure to ask a lot of questions, there is nothing wrong with asking questions because it’s not every day that you or anyone else for that matter uses a tow truck on a regular basis so you will not know because you have no way of knowing what it is that you need. A professional and well trained tow company dispatcher will be aware of this and walk you through exactly what needs to happen and answer all of your questions respectfully.
